Wolfgang Huebschle was appointed Executive Director in October 2010. Huebschle served previously as the Head of the Department for Regional Aid and European initiatives for cross-border cooperation at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology. Before that, Huebschle was Head of the Agency for Economic Development of the city of Augsburg.
Huebschle has almost fifteen years of experience in various government positions. He joined the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in March 1997 and held various positions, among them in the antitrust authority dealing with the opening of the energy markets and in the Secretary of States Office.
Huebschle received his PhD in law from the Centre III for International Economy in 1994. He got his degree in law from the University of Constance in 1993 and passed the Second State Law Examination at the OLG Karlsruhe in 1996.
Previous to joining the Ministry, he worked with attorneys Zimmermann & Partner and was co-owner and manager of the Juristische Repetitorium Alpmann-Schmidt Konstanz. Till 2010, he was a founding member on the Board of the AMU, a technology-transfer institute at the University of Augsburg. He is author of several publications, mostly on antitrust law and intellectual property.
