Bavarian initiatives and programs for sensor technology

Particularly in Munich and in the region of Nuremberg support from the State of Bavaria, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the EU have enabled a host of R&D projects in industry and science in the field of sensor technology. At the same time, the R&D infrastructure at the Fraunhofer Institutes in sensorics and microsystem technology has been advanced.

Bavarian initiatives and programs for power electronics

European Center for Power Electronics (ECPE)
Leading companies in power electronics such Semikron, Siemens, EPCOS und Infineon founded the ECPE in 2003. Its mission is to promote research, education and advanced training and technology transfer. It promotes the importance of power electronics to the public in order to increase acceptance of political decision makers, students and university planners. The participating companies wish to expand the ECPE to an industry-oriented research network for power electronics in Europe. The State of Bavaria and the EU support the project financially.
