U.S. high-tech company dynaTrace software establishes new Munich Office extending its expansion into Northern Europe

Bavarian Minister Emilia Müller: “Bavaria appreciates the fact that dynaTrace recognizes that Greater Metropolitan Munich offers tremendous opportunities and advantageous conditions for innovative and growing high-tech companies.”

MUNICH – dynaTrace software, the leader in application performance diagnostics for business-critical Java and .NET applications, has chosen to locate its new sales office in Munich, the center for information technology in Germany.  The new office opened in October and dynaTrace has plans to continue its growth through 2008 and beyond.

Bavaria’s Economics Minister Emilia Müller is pleased to welcome dynaTrace software to Bavaria as one of the latest U.S. companies to join Bavaria’s growing community of over 1,300 foreign high-tech companies. “Bavaria appreciates the fact that dynaTrace recognizes that the Greater Metropolitan Munich Area offers tremendous conditions for innovative and growing high-tech companies.  dynaTrace will be able to take advantage of the most highly-qualified skilled workers in Germany, especially those with the strong computer science expertise from Munich’s universities, LMU and TU; as well Munich’s proximity and excellent connections to all of Europe’s major cities.

“Munich was the logical choice for us when it came to expansion,” said Werner Maass, dynaTrace Vice President of Sales for EMEA. “Bavaria has a wealth of technology talent that a growing company like dynaTrace needs, allowing us to recruit highly skilled experts in software support, presales and key account management, as well as professional services.”

Another reason dynaTrace chose Bavaria was for its strategic location near Austria, where dynaTrace is headquartered. “Linz is where dynaTrace was founded, and it is nice to be within a few hours of home,” noted Maass. “In addition to top-notch talent, Munich gives us a gateway for our expansion into Northern Europe.”

Founded in 2005, dynaTrace successfully launched the first commercial version of its flagship application performance diagnostics software – dynaTrace Diagnostics – in 2006.  dynaTrace’s technology is the only solution that can trace a unique transaction path across multiple physical tiers and servers enabling customers to move beyond monitoring and take corrective action.

In each stage of an application’s lifecycle, from development, to QA, to staging, and through live operation, IT personnel want to see and understand where and why performance bottlenecks exist. With dynaTrace Diagnostics, IT personnel gain a better understanding of the dynamic behavior of their applications allowing them to quickly reconstruct the problem transaction, identify the root-cause of the problem and fix it.  www.dynatrace.com

More than three quarters of the over 800 U.S. subsidiaries located in Bavaria are high-tech firms.  For more than ten years, the Bavarian representative offices in New York City and Palo Alto, CA, have been promoting Bavaria’s business advantages to U.S. companies and has been offering hands-on support and extensive assistance to companies that are looking to expand to Europe / Germany.
