Zeil: "Bavaria is the most attractive location in Europe"
MUNICH Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil, comments on the current EU ranking of manager magazin: "Bavaria is the most attractive location in Europe. The State is excellently positioned to overcome the challenges of the global economic crisis better than other regions." According to the study, half of the ten most attractive business locations in Europe were situated in Bavaria. "This is an excellent result that impressively underscores Bavaria’s national and international competitiveness as a top location for industry and investment", Zeil said.
In the view of the Minister, Bavaria’s above-average economic strength would play a decisive role in helping the State to cope well with the consequences of the recession. It was also a precondition for being able to make a vigorous start in the new upswing. Zeil: "We will make every effort to support the business community with all the State’s political instruments. In this way Bavaria will once again be up among the winners in the next upswing."
For the study commissioned by manager magazin, more than 1,000 EU regions were analyzed on the basis of 25 locational factors. In Germany, the counties and self-administered towns were taken as the unit of analysis. Top performer in the overall ranking is Luxembourg, followed by the County of Munich and Ingolstadt.
