Bavaria’s Vice-Minister of Economic Affairs visits CeBIT in Hanover

Sackmann: “An inspiring insight into the future”

MUNICH / HANOVER  During his visit to CeBIT today, Bavaria’s Vice-Minister of Economic Affairs, Markus Sackmann, was impressed by the new opportunities for applications in the field of information and telecommunications. “Here at CeBIT you can gain an inspiring insight into the future,” Sackmann said. He thought Bavaria was on the right track: “With our various campaigns, like for instance the promotion of country-wide fast Internet connections, we are preparing ourselves for the demands of tomorrow.”

The State Government’s strategy of promoting the new technologies with a whole bundle of measures and creating clusters in the technology sector was being confirmed on all sides as the right approach. In top-level talks with industry representatives, Sackmann gathered information about the latest developments and most urgent challenges. “The so-called field of ‘Green IT’ seems to me to be a very important sector. I am quite sure that not only with a view to climate protection, but also locational aspects, we will shortly be devoting more attention to the question of how the energy required for the expanding IT sector can be provided in an environmentally friendly manner,” the Vice-Minister continued.

Invest in Bavaria will be represented at CeBIT on the communal booth of Bayern Innovativ in Hall 9, Booth B20.
