Positive trend in Bavaria’s call center industry / Major successful recruitments since the beginning of the year / 500 new jobs

MUNICH    The call center business in Bavaria is weathering the economic crisis. Since the start of the year, several major investment projects have been implemented all over the State, including projects of companies like 37 grad dialog GmbH, SEI Europe and Nürnberger CommunicationCenter, to name just a few.

Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil, is delighted at this trend: “The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs was very quick to show its confidence in state-of-the-art communications technology as the motor driving the employment market and started supporting the call center sector. I am therefore all the more pleased to see the positive results that this industry has generated.” 500 new, direct jobs are to be created now and in the near future. Invest in Bavaria is currently helping other call center companies to build up a base or company site in Bavaria.

Only last June, the dialog marketing provider 37 grad dialog GmbH started operations in Amberg. The first 55 of a total of 400 new employees have already been taken on and are receiving calls in its newly fitted out premises for a nationwide energy supplier.

The U.S. company SEI has begun test operations for its first German customer support center in the community of Olching near Munich. By the end of the year, the company will have a workforce of 50 people, who will then take calls from customers of a German automobile manufacturer in the premium segment.

In April, NÜRNBERGER CommunicationCenter (NCC) opened another branch office in Ansbach, which in the medium term will also employ 50 new members of staff to actively service customers of the NÜRNBERGER Versicherungsgruppe and answer questions about the Group’s insurance products.

“Bavaria offers excellent qualifications as a location for call and communications centers”, underlined Minister Zeil. “The high standard of technology – including in particular the ICT infrastructure –, well-qualified employees, excellent training and CPD facilities as well as the important clients based here in Bavaria are crucial locational factors when it comes to setting up a new business in Bavaria.”

In Bavaria, the call center industry consists of more than 330 companies providing over 30,000 jobs and is also a major international growth sector with considerable labor market potential.
