Ingolstadt New Business Center (EGZ) celebrates its 10th anniversary / Bavaria’s Economics Minister Müller underlines excellent record
Müller: "The Ingolstadt New Business Center is a success story"
MUNICH / INGOLSTADT A big birthday for the New Business Center in Ingolstadt (EGZ): the business park sponsored with a roughly € 2 million grant from the High-Tech Initiative was opened in May 1998. "The investment has paid off many times over. The Ingolstadt New Business Center is a success story and can boast an excellent balance of start-ups and hive offs. In particular I would like to thank the staff of the Business Center for the helpful support and assistance given to the newly established businesses. They have made a vital contribution to helping the Ingolstadt New Business Center develop into a success story over the past ten years", Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Emilia Müller, said at the anniversary celebrations in Ingolstadt.
More than 100 spin-offs document the sustained success of this Business Center. Müller commented: "Many interesting company histories could be written here – from the Erste-Hilfe-Schulungscenter (First-Aid Training Center) through consulting and advertising agencies all the way to industrial designers, IT experts and automobile developers. Nearly all the companies have set up facilities in the region and can show an impressive record of further development." The three largest firms now employ more than 300 people. At the moment, there were 70 start-ups in the EGZ with more than 250 employees, she added.
The EGZ was an outstanding example of the excellent climate for business start-ups in Bavaria. "The consistent support of new businesses is paying off. Bavaria is the Number One start-up state in Germany. Start-ups create new, promising jobs and so help us to come closer to our goal of full employment in many parts of Bavaria", Müller continued. The promotion of start-ups was still a top priority of the State Government.
That was, for example, the reason why the activities of all the institutions vital for start-ups were being networked throughout the State under the Bavarian Start-Up Pact, which is unparalleled anywhere in Germany, with a view to giving start-ups even more efficient support in the future. The Economics Minister concluded by underlining: "An optimal climate for newly established businesses is one of the cornerstones of our policy to make Bavaria a state for the future. We encourage and support people, who demonstrate commitment and creativity in capturing new markets and who take advantage of the opportunities presenting themselves.
