Head of the SPD Party in the Bavarian Parliament Maget and delegation visiting the United States

MUNICH- Franz Maget, Head of the SPD Party in the Bavarian Parliament, started a week long trip to the United States on Monday, May 12th. According to Maget, the theme of his visit includes the international financial crisis and its impact on Bavaria as well as the future development of the world economy. After visiting NASDAQ OMX and the Federal Reserve in New York, the delegation will head to Washington, D.C. to visit the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Maget will be accompanied by his Deputy Thomas Beyer, Hildegard Kronawitter, SPD Spokesperson for Economic Affairs, and Adelheid Rupp, Deputy Head of the SPD in Bavaria. Maget is also hoping to meet with delegates of the Democratic Party in Washington. The Leader of the opposition in the Bavarian Parliament stated that the purpose of the trip is to enable thinking outside the box. Last year he headed a delegation to China.
