Harris Corporation opens new Broadcast Communications Office in Munich

MUNICH / MELBOURNE FLORIDA Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, announced the opening of its new central European Broadcast Communications office in Munich, Germany, from which Harris will broadcast business throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Nordic and Eastern Europe (including Russia). Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Zeil: "The addition of this global player is a confirmation of Bavaria’s continuing growth as a market leader in the media industry. Thanks to Bavaria’s role as a platform providing access to European markets, the State is automatically moving into the spotlight of many US Media investors when it comes to setting up a main European branch office."

The Munich office is part of an ongoing plan by Harris to strengthen its presence in the European market and to develop a closer understanding of regional trends and stronger relationships with customers.  The new facility will house the main business functions for the central European region, including sales, customer support and product management, and will be closely tied to the existing regional Harris facility in Rankweil, Austria. "The Munich office will provide a strong regional presence that supports the wider Harris goals in the European market, namely to establish closer customer relationships, secure the best sales and support talent, and improve local reaction time," says Richard Scott, vice president, Europe, the Middle East and Africa operations for Harris Broadcast Communications.  "We are confident that the new office and customer-oriented approach will play a vital role in meeting the needs of customers with increasingly complex workflows."
