German manufacturer of made-to-measure shirts moves company headquarters from Hesse to Aschaffenburg | Production relocated from Turkey to Bavaria | 50 new jobs within two years

MUNICH / ASCHAFFENBURG    Kuhl Projektmanagement GmbH (KPM) – a company based in the South of the German State of Hesse – has decided to move to Aschaffenburg. At the same time it is also moving its production facilities from Izmir (in Turkey) to Lower Franconia. Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil, commented: “Bavaria offers ideal conditions for manufacturing companies with high quality standards. Aschaffenburg, in particular, with its excellent infrastructure and large pool of highly qualified employees scores well among German and foreign companies in the tough competition for sites. KPM’s decision is a positive signal for Lower Franconia especially in times of economic crisis.”

The head office of the company will be based in a new production and logistics center on the former premises of the shirt manufacturer Kalb in Aschaffenburg together with its production, sales, storage and dispatch divisions. The first employment contracts are currently being signed. Trial training for production staff is due to start on 15 August. Production will commence on 1 September.

Dieter Kuhl, managing director and shareholder of KPM, intends to create 50 new jobs in the next two years. In explaining his main reasons for choosing this location, he said: “Our company relies on its products being of the highest standard. Their manufacture calls for technical expertise as well as skill and experience. With its long tradition in apparel production, the Aschaffenburg site offers ideal prerequisites for KPM. During the job interviews, I was able to meet highly motivated people with excellent training. The proximity to Frankfurt Airport rounds of the overall positive picture.”
Since 2006, Kuhl Projektmanagement has been producing and selling made-to-measure shirts, polo shirts and high-quality accessories under the brand name ‘dikay51’. The sales division uses an innovative system of direct marketing, which offers experienced sales staff in the outerwear segment the chance to become independent. In parallel, the company is also opening its own training center at the new site in Aschaffenburg.
