DLA Piper expands its German operations and opens a new branch office in Munich

Huber: “The financial center of Munich ranks in the top international league”

MUNICH   On August 1, 2007, the global legal services organization DLA Piper opened a new branch office in Munich. The law office specializes mainly in advisory services in the fields of Corporate / Private Equity as well as Technology, Media and Commercial (TMC).

“The opening of the Munich office of DLA Piper in the Bavarian capital proves that Munich is an attractive location for financial services and ranks in the top international league”, commented Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Erwin Huber. By opening this office, DLA Piper is following the wishes of many clients for a presence in the South of Germany.

The law office has a large number of clients – both in Europe and in particular also in America –, which operate in the Munich area. “With the opening of its new Munich office alongside those in Cologne, Frankfurt and Hamburg, DLA Piper will be represented in the most important business centers of Germany. The Munich location will also assume great importance in connection with the further development of DLA Piper in Central and Eastern Europe”, according to Dr. Ulrich Jüngst, Regional Manager of DLA Piper in Germany.

DLA Piper is one of the largest law offices in the world. With over 3,400 lawyers at 64 locations in 25 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the USA, DLA Piper offers a comprehensive range of legal advisory services. In Germany, DLA Piper is currently represented at three locations with over 100 lawyers, including 24 partners.
