Bavaria’s Economics Minister Müller hosts reception for members of the Consular Corps accredited in the State of Bavaria

MUNICH  Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Emilia Müller, has received the heads of missions of the Consular Corps accredited in Bavaria at a joint lunch in the Munich Residence. “I am delighted that 36 states are currently represented in Bavaria with a Consulate or Consulate General and 74 states with an Honorary Consulate. The fact that large parts of the world are fostering consular relations with the State of Bavaria demonstrates the attraction and appeal of Bavaria abroad. The consular missions create important bridges between Bavaria and the rest of the world,” Müller commented.

She added that the State of Bavaria was attractive as a strong business location for cooperating with partners from all over the world. This was shown by the current figure of around 1,400 foreign high-tech companies that have set up facilities in Bavaria. “I am delighted at every single company that chooses Bavaria,” Müller underlined.

In addition, good contacts with foreign countries were particularly important for the Bavarian companies that last year set the 14th export record in succession with exports worth over 153 billion euros. “The staff of the Consular Corps are vital links in the chain. Without their vigorous cooperation and support, many a good contacts bringing us mutual benefit today would never have materialized,” explained Müller.

The Minister of Economic Affairs thanked the members of the Consular Corps for their commitment to the people of their home countries, for their work in cultivating relations with Bavaria and in particular for the good and trusting cooperation with the State Government.
