Bavaria hosts the Stevie International Business Awards 2007 - Awards ceremony to be held outside the USA for the first time

Huber: “Bavaria once again in the spotlight of worldwide interest”

MUNICH The “Oscars of the business world” are coming to Bavaria! The fourth Stevie International Business Awards will be presented on September 10, 2007 at the Marriott Hotel in Munich. More than 250 high-ranking international guests are expected.

The Stevie Award is presented for outstanding cross-sectoral achievements in business life. Companies and organizations receive the Award for “special efforts, accomplishments and positive contributions to the business world“. Bavaria’s Economics Minister Erwin Huber is delighted that after the World Cup Soccer Championships Bavaria has once again moved into the spotlight of international media interest: “In an expanding state like Bavaria, the motto ‘A time to make friends’ applies just as much to representative business events like the Stevie Award. The fact that the Awards are being conferred outside the USA for the first time is further evidence of the important international role Bavaria plays as a top business location“, the Minister continued.

This year, over 1,000 companies and entrepreneurs from more than 30 countries have come up before the high-caliber jury. The judges on the jury include real-estate billionaire Donald Trump and the Senior Vice President of Oracle Customer Service, Jean Reiczyk, among others. At the Gala Evening on September 10, 2007 a total of 98 award winners will be chosen. About 200 highly eminent international business representatives are expected to attend the ceremony. The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology is the Premier Sponsor of the event.

The Stevie International Business Awards have been conferred since 2003. Last year the Bavarian representative office in New York under the direction of Dagmar Cassan was honored with the Stevie Award as the best business development agency. What is more, the office was also one of the finalists in the categories for the best annual report and the best marketing brochure.
