Lower Franconia


Regional Information

Lower Franconia is a high-tech region situated right in the center of Germany and boasts momentum and quality of life in addition to economic strength. According to the analysis of the European Statistical Office, Lower Franconia ranks sixth among the leading high-tech regions of Europe. Particular characteristics of Lower Franco-nia are high economic performance, culture and a well-preserved natural environ-ment. Lower Franconia offers the full spectrum of location facilities ranging from in-cubators and industrial parks to developed industrial areas. It is a top location for in-dustry and services and has established an excellent position among international competition where it continues to grow stronger. The specific qualities of Lower Fran-conia, with the sub-regions of "Mainfranken" and "Bayerischer Untermain" (Bavarian Lower Main) have been promoted through proactive regional marketing scheme for almost 10 years. It is the objective of the two regional initiatives to portray the strengths of the region and promote regional identity. The "Initiative Bayerischer Untermain" focuses on the regions in and around Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg. The "Chancen-Region Mainfranken" focuses on the areas of Würzburg, Schweinfurt, Bad Kissingen, Hassberge, Kitzingen, Main-Spessart and Rhön-Grabfeld.
