With a workforce of over 300,000 people operating in information and communications technology Bavaria is one of the most important Information & Communications locations in the world. This makes Bavaria the Number One region in Germany in this sector as well.

Bavaria’s over 20,000 high-tech enterprises represent

  • 36 percent of the manpower in German computer manufacturing,
  • 39 percent of the workforce in German electronic components production and
  • 40 percent of the German employment in the electronic media sector.

Bavaria accounts for 40 percent of all software companies in the Federal Republic of Germany.
