Research Environment
Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences offer first-class opportunities for research in the field of “Finance“. About 41,000 students of the approximately 250,000 students registered at Bavaria 46 public and private universities, colleges and art schools have chosen economic studies.
Munich is the headquarters for the Max Planck Society and the Fraunhofer Society, two of the most famous research organizations in Germany. The Max-Planck Society operates 12 research institutes and the Fraunhofer Society operates 8 institutes in Bavaria. One of Germany’s leading economic research institutes and one that is most often quoted in the media, Ifo Institute for Economic Research, is located at the University of Munich.
The Bavarian state government promotes the cooperation between science and economics in an effort to successfully link theory to practice. The continuous development of educational opportunities and the optimization of research and education, and the exploration of trend-setting topics, and greater incentives for product innovation and internationalization further strengthen the global competitive position of the Munich as a financial center.
