Introduction
Renewable energy is one of the most important components of Germany’s new energy strategy. Bavaria was Germany’s first state to develop a program to promote renewable energies and rationed energy consumption, in 1978. Numerous other initiatives and programs followed. Since then, the state of Bavaria has promoted the projects “renewable energy” and “rationed energy consumption” with more than one half billion Euros in incentives. This promotional policy is reflected in significant increases in renewable energy production and numerous new projects in this sector.
In the State of Bavaria, there are many technologically notable new projects in all areas of renewable energies: from the highly innovative production of solar cells to optimized energy production based on biomass to geothermic heat and power supply. Such projects generate a technological impulse that inspires new innovations.
For these reasons and the factors outlined in this section, new energy technology companies worldwide are considering the exciting market of Bavaria, Germany for their next international expansion project.
