Petrochemical
Petrochemical companies that work with propylene and ethylene basis have an industry concentration in three areas in the state: Münchsmünster, Burghausen and Burgkirchen/Gendorf. For example, OMV, Austria’s largest listed industrial company, is located in Burghausen and BP/Ruhr Oel is located in Münchsmünster. Chemical Fiber
The Bavarian Chemical fiber industry accounts for about 40% of sales and workforce in the German chemical industry. Companies such as Invista, Johns Manville, Trevira and Teijin
Monofilament are located in Bobingen. The U.S.-based Johns Manville initially invested in the Bavarian City of Bobingen in 1999 and in 2006 decided to invest 30 million euros to create 17 new jobs and secure 170 existing jobs increasing the company’s annual production of spunbond by about 30%.

Construction Chemicals
German construction chemical companies account for approximately half of the European market volume and a third of the world market. Global players Degussa
AG and Wacker Chemie AG are located in Bavaria. Also located in the State of Bavaria are mid-size cement, mortar and paint manufacturers that hold leading positions globally in their respective market segments such as Keimfarben
